The Wonderful Land Of Oz 1969 / 71 minutes / Not Rated -------------------------------------------
This movie actually folows extremely close to the book. However the movie isn't anywhere similar to the classic Wizard Of Oz movie. This movie does have music so it is kindof considered a musical. But it isn't loaded with music, it has the right amount. Ok so let me sum this whole movie up into a few lines. The Wizard of Oz took Ozma the queen of Oz and hid her. He took her to Mombi. Mombi cast a spell on Ozma and turned Ozma into a boy named Tip. Tip one day created Jack Pumpkin head to scare Mombi. Mombi decided to test out her new "powder of life" on Jack Pumpkinhead, which brought him to life. Tip and Jack Pumpkinhead ran away from Mombi stealing the "powder of life". They were on their way to the Emerald city to speak to the Scarecrow which was King of the Emerald City. On the way Tip ran into General JinJur. Geaneral JinJur and her Rebellious Army planned to take over the Emerald City. While JinJur was conquoring the Emerald city Tip the Scarecrow and Jack went and got their friend the Tin-Woodman. On their way back the meet H.M. Wogglebug T.E. They all went back to the Emerald City. General JinJur and her Rebellious Army did take over the Emerald city. When they got back to the emerald city they went up to the roof before JinJur could catch them. They put togeather Gump. Tip sprinkled the "powder of life" on Gump, and brought Gump to life. Gump then flew them away safely. They went to see Glinda the good. Glinda confronted Mombi and she turned Tip back into Ozma. Ozma then went back and took back her throne in the Emerald City. The Scarecrow went on to explore Oz. That pretty much sums it up. The DVD is kind of expensive but is easy to buy. It comes with The Wonderful Land Of Oz and a second feature of Jack and the Beanstalk.
